COMMUNITY EVENT: The Show 'n Tell Show

1 of 1

The Show 'n Tell Show is pleased to announce another edition of Chicago’s first and only live talk show centered around design. The Show 'n Tell Show is a late night-style show where the guests are the city’s most dynamic designers, photographers, illustrators and poster-makers. They each present a single project in a lively evening full of drinks, laughs and design.

After a year at The Whistler, due to over-capacity at the last few shows, they are moving on over to Schubas. Accordingly, the show will be bigger and badder than ever, in Schubas beautiful performance space.

Guests include:

Ivan Brunetti (Schizo, Fantagraphics)
Billy Bauman (Delicious Design League, live from Flatstock Seattle)
123 Clap (Members of the M’s, video/music experiments)
Jeremiah Chiu & Renata Graw (Plural)
Mig Reyes (Threadless)
Davey Sommers (The Post Family)
Elaine Fong (Elaine Fong Design)

The Show ‘n Tell Show is hosted by designers Michael Renaud and Zach Dodson. But they would never show without SpokesMom, the spokesmodel that is also your mom. She provides clueless commentary and blind encouragement to the guests, as well as comic relief from design that takes itself too seriously.

Rather than a gallery show, or some mega-design conference, the Show ‘n Tell Show truly provides a space for designers to talk about what they do, and what they love: design. The focus is on the work. And admission is FREE. It was almost named “Just two dudes, talkin’ design.”

Past guests have included design mainstays like Threadless, The Post Family, Sonnenzimmer, Jay Ryan, and Coudal. The Show features every stripe of creative cat: graphic and motion designers, photographers, art directors, illustrators, graphic novelists, artists, and screen printers included. The most innovative minds in the city come to ‘show and tell’ about their best projects. From detailing process, to revealing pet projects to blowing off steam about nightmare clients, the work is always amazing, and never boring.

And check out the the website, showntellshow.com, for constant updates including photos and design work from past show,s video clips, visual puns and Michael Renaud taking book design to the street!
