The third installment of the 2007 season travels to Avenue Marketing & Communications. Come down May 22 for an intimate look into Avenue's approach to work that inspires change for leading businesses.

Avenue is an independent marketing and communications firm located in Chicago. They specialize in helping businesses launch new products and services, and rethink new directions for their established brands. Avenue's clients come from various industries looking to envision and identify new opportunities for their brands. Current and past clients include Canyon Ranch, Weber Grill, Joffrey Ballet, FLOR, BzzAgent and TurboChef.

Event Summary

The third Small Talk was hosted by Avenue on Tuesday, May 22. The night began with a social for the 30+ attendees with drinks and hors d'oeuvres in their River North space. Later, everyone gathered for a presentation given by the President, Bob Domenz, in which he discussed Avenue's general approach and walked through a few illustrative case studies.

Avenue is a marketing and communications firm that specializes in brand creation and repositioning through integrated marketing campaigns. While their type of clientele is diverse, all are striving for aggressive results in their respective industries. This type of work lends itself to intimate, long-term relationships in which Avenue can truly understand the business and audience – Avenue becomes "an extension of the client's marketing department."

Joffrey Ballet, Weber, and InterfaceFLOR where examples of recent, successful brand repositioning projects that Bob highlighted. For each, he explained the process starting from the initial "Wall of Shame" in which Avenue critiques current marketing to the strategic process, the design and the dramatic results garnered by each campaign.
